Does anybody know where they would release this? The only website that I found that had it available to purchase said that it was only available in the UK. Also, what are your thoughts on Infinity Ward following Hans Zimmer and Brian Tyler with David Buckley? Personally, I am livid. However, it is still a Call of Duty soundtrack.

| Mike | 2013-11-06 17:25:38 | I don't have a 'who', exactly, but I absolutely loved the tone of Call of Duty 4's score. It was serious, dark, and full of tension. The score was very reflective of the game itself, trying to create a realistic, no-nonsense experience that paints the picture of modern war as it is, with no impossible action scenes or 'bad ass' slo mo kills (as opposed to the CoD games from Black Ops onwards :P). CoD4 didn't have an uplifting, heroic Transformers-style theme like Tyler's MW3 score, nor a 'The Rock'-style theme like the one Zimmer wrote for MW2. I know it's not gonna happen, but I'd love to have a score like CoD4's again. One that treats CoD like a war game, not an action film. But then, CoD doesn't treat itself like a war game anymore, really. The reason the CoD scores now sound like action film scores is because the CoD games treat you like Ethan Hunt or Jason Bourne, not a soldier. lol. |
